How to unlock any iPhone with any baseband using SAM in manual and auto mode?

Hello All,

If your iPhone (iPhone4, iPhone4S) is still locked or you are using SIM inspector (Gevey sim) to unlock you phone (which drains your iPhone battery quickly) then there is a good news for you...

"A software unlock for all iPhone's has arrived"

After long long waiting, the new method is now available to unlock any iPhone, in all baseband and all mobile networks, including the latest model, the iPhone 4S with any IOS version. This unlock is same as Factory Unlock.
Chinese hacker named Loktar_Sun has found a trick by which it is possible to software unlock the iPhone (4, 4s). This software unlock is known as SAM unlock or Subscriber Artificial Module based unlock.
In the final version of Cydia app SAM (0.1.14-2), there is an option that can fully unlock and activate or inactivated iPhone. The method was tested on iOS 5, IOS 5.0.1 and IOS 5.1, but should work on any other version (in case for some reason you are still on the older version you can update to the latest IOS version safely because SAM unlock works with latest baseband also ).

How SAM unlock works?

It works on the principle of cheating the iTunes, as you use the card with the normal/legal ICCID number to a legal network, which allows Apple to use and activate iPhone on any network. After this unlock iPhone can be freely reboot and synced with iTunes till you use the same SIM card.
The new (23 April 2012) SAM unlock method is tested on the iPhone 3G, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S worldwide, and is fully approved by iDev Team and their main man @MusclenerdNew unlock works with all known basebands / Modem Firmwares 1.0.11, 1.013, 1.0.14, 2.0.10, 1.59, 2.10, 3.10.1, 4.10.1, 4.11.08, 4.12.01 and any other baseband you can think of.

Instructions to Unlock the iPhone:

Before you begin, it is worth noting:
  • To follow this tutorial you need a jailbreakan iPhone that is not the IMEI Black List.
(For instructions on how to jailbreak iPhone please do google with keyword 'redsn0w' )
  • A computer with Internet access.
  • The latest version of iTunes.
  • This method unlocks and activates the SIM card, therefore, if for some reason the SIM card is replaced, you will need to repeat this method from the beginning for the new/replaced sim-card.
  • This method does not work if your iPhone hacktiviran.
Step 1: Install SAM tweak/app version 0.1.14-2 or higher on you iPhone
To install the SAM tweak, you must have to add the repo Bingner to Cydia source. SAM cydia repo is repo.bingner.com

  • After jailbraking your phone, look for the app Cydia on your phone; open it
  • Go to Manage tab and select Sources.
  • Hit Edit and then Add button and in the popup (as shown in figure below) type http://repo.bingner.com

  • After Done/adding the above repo you will see Bingner as show below. Tap on it.

  • Select and install SAM app (it will also install ACUtil, SAMPrefs and Stockify automatically)

Step 2: Put the Sim card in the tray, without sim inspector (gevey sim). Yes,  the new SIM card that you want to unlock.
After installation of app/tweek and the locked/new sim , You have to click on the icon SAMPrefs to open the tweak.

Step 3: Go to "Utilities" and if your iPhone is already activated with another original network, click "Deactivate". If not, you will not have this option. ActivationState should be "Unactivated"

Step 4: Go back ( app home page ) and click on the "Method" and then select "By Country and Carrier" option. Now go back to the home page and select the country and operator to which your iPhone is locked.
For most of the cases country is USA and operator is AT&T and Sim ID is 310410.
Some say that you can choose the automatic adjustment, but for that you need the original SIM cart which came with you iPhone.
If you don't have the original SIM no worries, just select countary as the contry from where you bought the iPhone and operator as AT&T for "Sim ID" section, some operators have more than one Ida Sim, so if you have a problem with activation you need to try other ID'ove on the list.

Step 5: Then, click on "More Information" and copy the IMSI number of the "SAM Details". (for Copy to clipboard - Click, Hold, Select All, Copy) also try to remember last three digits.
Step 6: Without selecting anything else select "Spoof Real SIM" (check that the IMSI in SAM Details is changed, if not then reprocess from step3).  Now go back to app main page, you will see method is reset to "Manual" and the IMSI is not same as it was on step4. Click on this IMSI and past the copied number here.
Step 7: Without touching anything else go to "Utilities" option and click on "Attempt Activation". Your iPhone will be resprin (soft reboot) in a moment.
Step 8: Go back to app main page, under "Subscriber Artificial Module", click the Enabled option to shut it down. (Disable)
Step 9 Connect the iPhone to iTunes via USB cable and wait a few moments. You'll get an error message that the activation failed but it is completely normal. After a few moments you will see your network in the upper left corner of the iPhone, which means that your device is successfully unlocked and activated.
If after about 20 seconds, the device still is not activated, unplug the cable and plug it back and try it a few times. Sometimes activation passed at first and sometimes it is necessary to try several times. Be patient.
Note1: If this fails, click on the "Phone Number" on iTunes main screen and see if you ICCID in iTunes coincides with that of the SAM twekau (More Info section). If not, then you must repeat the process from the first step.

Note2: It is always good to buy an unlocked iPhone
